Front Cover Before and After

Here is the before and after of my magazine front cover.

As you can see there is a distinct difference between both magazine front covers. The new version of the magazine looks much more cleaner, brighter and more related to my target audience. My front cover represents a hybrid of a young pop magazine and a more contemporary one. This was done through using conventions from 'Top of The Pops Magazine' as well as 'Billboard' as shown below: 
I used the fonts from the pop magazine; it looks slim, neat and clean. I also decided to position the name of the featured artist on the left side in a bold font. The coverlines were also influenced by this magazine as they are in a similar font and are black. 
I used the idea of the rectangle on the top of the page to feautre things that are inside the magazine. I also used the idea of positioning the image of the makeup at the top right. The image of the artist shows the model with a more cheerful approach as well as the pose being a fun and energetic one. I used the idea of the plugs being in a different colour box to make it stand out more to the audience.
