Artist Interview

Here is the interview I have created for my double page spread:

You thought you knew everything about Eva Perry but you were wrong! From early inspirations to heart ache, the hit sensation Eva Perry talks to us about her successes as the new face of pop music and her inspirational journey to fame.

Eva, what inspired you to get into music?
Well I actually have a lot of inspirations! In fact my biggest inspiration would be my grandmother. She was a singer back in her day and she inspired me to chase my dreams whatever my passion. My passion has always been music. I went through quite a few rough patches when I was a teenager and faced problems like depression and anxiety so music was an escape and I soon found myself.  It was then that I decided that I wanted to inspire people

How did you get to where you are right now?
I had always loved singing as a child and playing instruments like the guitar and piano so I had quite a history with music!  As I said before, I faced many personal problems a few years back and so I started to write music as a way to express what I was feeling inside. My friends and family encouraged me to do more of this once they read my lyrics. So I started to sing my lyrics and I surprised myself. I was actually pretty good! I then started to upload videos online. I put up videos of me singing covers but I also put up my own work and I got such a fantastic response! I then got approached by Island Records who liked what they heard and soon enough I was signed to a record label making music and living the life.

Who are your artist influences?
I adore Katy Perry; I find her music so inspirational and relatable. Her sense of style is another thing that I am in love with, her fashion statement is just so bold and it shows her individuality and creativity. I really hope to one day make it as big as her.

Who would you say you owe your success to?
Definitely my friends and family because they have helped me so much to help build up the confidence to sing and make music. Also my fans. They are simply amazing. Without them I would still be a small town girl singing songs on YouTube ’hats off to all my fans!’ They truly mean the world to me. I owe a lot of my success to them.

What is the most challenging thing that you have experienced in your career?
The biggest challenge I have had to face was my break up. I found that it affected me so much more than I thought it  would. I had been with him for around three years but we didn’t work out and so we both moved on. To be honest if I didn’t have the breakup I wouldn’t have made my hit single ‘Without You’ So thanks to him!  But it was a real challenge to come back into the studio and start performing again after that.

What are your future plans?
I have so many plans that I hope I will be able to achieve. I want to one day play in Madison Square Garden because it’s been a dream of mine ever since I got into the music industry.
I have also just recently announced my tour ‘New Strings’ In September so I’m really looking forward to performing live and meeting my lovely fans. Another thing I hope to do in the future is to collaborate with artists I adore like Katy Perry.
